Human Rights Friendly School is a school that ensures that human rights values and principles are at the heart of the learning experience and present in all major areas of school life.

The model was developed by Amnesty International and it aims at generating a positive change in the whole school community.

Through the project, human rights become part of the school’s life – they are taught in the class and are subject of extracurricular activities, teachers get training and a special methodology is developed.

This whole school approach of integrating human rights into the school key areas covers:

12 schools from Estonia with gymnasium level will become part of the Network of „Human Rights Friendly Schools“
