10.12.2018

The second training seminar for volunteers of international civic movement #LIBERATECRIMEA was held in Tallinn on December 8-10, 2018. The seminar focused on the planning of public events for 2019. It was attended by 16 volunteers from Ukraine and the European Union (Poland, Austria, UK, Belgium, Luxembourg, France and Latvia). An overview of Estonia-Ukraine relations was presented by Estonian MP Johannes Kert who chairs the Estonia-Ukraine parliamentary group at Riigikogu. EIHR exprt Margit Leerimaa shared Estonian experiences with organizing commemorative events about Estonia deportations. A thorough presentation about information war tactics was delivered by the Dmitri Teperik, researcher at the International Centre for Defence and Security. The second training day (9.12) focused on the planning of #LIBERATECRIMEA strategy (including mission statement, goals, target audiences and messages), as well as planning 2019 public events, led by Eskender Bariiev and Oliver Loode. On December 10, #LIBERATECRIMEA volunteers participated at the annual Human Rights Conference organized by EIHR. An important accomplishment of the training event was to expand the international network of #LIBERATECRIMEA volunteers to key European centres, including Paris, London, Brussels, Vienna and Warsaw.
