#LIBERATECRIMEA strategy focus groups held in Ukraine and Turkey

On January 16-19, experts of Crimean Tatar Resource Center and the Estonian Insitute of Human Rights held four focus groups as part of the strategy development for #LIBERATECRIMEA movement. The main objective of these focus groups was to collect input for the strategy from Ukrainian independent political analysts, experts and journalists. Focus groups also provided an opportunity to raise awareness of #LIBERATECRIMEA movement – its background and objectives – among thought leaders and influencers in Ukraine. In addition, the project team conducted two focus group interviews among representatives of the Crimean Tatar diaspora in Turkey (Ankara, Istanbul). As a result of the focus groups, #LIBERATECRIMEA team confirmed the need for an international solidarity movement in support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and in solidarity with Crimean Tatar people. Strategy of the #LIBERATECRIMEA solidarity movement is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
