Human rights are established in the Constitution of the Republic of Estonia. The second chapter of the document states the rights, freedoms and also duties to human rights. The rights listed in the Constitution apply to all the citizens of Estonia, to citizens of other countries and stateless persons staying in Estonia. Human rights are universal.
Human rights situation in Estonia is being monitored by several local and international organisations. See the overviews from United Nations, Freedom House, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International on their websites. Different reports confirm that Estonia is a democratic country with no evidence of systematic abuse of human rights.
In 2016 the Estonian Institute of Human Rights conducted a research to know how Estonian residents evaluate the human rights in Estonia. The results can be found here: Public Opinion Survey on Human Rights in Estonia.
